Message from the Chairman

Hello everyone! I am the chairman of the first executive committee of the Po Leung Kuk Celine Ho Yam Tong College Alumni Association, Chu Chun Yin.

I am very honored to be the first chairman of the "Po Tong" Alumni Association. First of all, I would like to thank the executive committee members for electing me and giving me the opportunity to serve everyone. Secondly, I sincerely appreciate the trust and support from the principal and advisory teachers. I also thank the organizing committee for their efforts in creating the Po Leung Kuk Ho Yam Tong College Alumni Association.

I graduated from Po Tong in 2010 and served as the house leader, captain of the football team, and assisted in organizing school events. I promise to devote myself to promoting the Alumni Association, uniting graduates from all years, assisting in the development of the school, and strengthening alumni connections.

"Po Tong" has entered its 22nd year, and the Alumni Association will strengthen the connections between "Po Tongers" through various activities. I believe that all "Po Tongers" can reunite with their teachers and fellow students, and recall the colourful campus life of the past.

Finally, I urge everyone to pay attention to the school website for updates. Most importantly, I hope that alumni can actively participate in the activities organized by the Alumni Association. I look forward to seeing you all at the next event! Last but not least, I welcome valuable opinions from all alumni to help us do better!

First Alumni Association's Inaugural General Meeting cum Annual Dinner

The Alumni Association of the College was established in 2023. This banquet is specially organized to connect with the alumni, allowing teachers and alumni to gather together, enjoy a basin meal (poon choi), and reminisce about our time on campus. We also hope to invite the teachers who once taught us to attend and reunite with us! The details are as follows:


To encourage alumni to invite other teachers to participate, a special group purchase price of $2,400 is available.


Target audience: Registered members of the College's Alumni Association.


Registration method:

1. Deposit the payment into the Alumni Association's Bank of China account 012-64920232168.

2. Send the deposit slip via WhatsApp or email to The deposit slip must indicate "Alumni Association Annual Dinner," the participant's name, and contact number.

3. After receiving the deposit slip, the advisory teacher will contact the participant by phone to confirm the registration and send a confirmation email.


Deadline: December 16, 2023.



1. All participating alumni must be registered members of the Po Leung Kuk Celine Ho Yam Tong College Alumni Association.

2. Each alumni member can invite former or current teachers to attend the dinner.

3. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis (based on the date and time of receiving the deposit slip) until the quota is full.

4. The Alumni Association reserves the right to make the final decision on participants' eligibility.

5. After deducting all expenses, any surplus from this event will be allocated for the Alumni Association's use as funds.

Notice of Alumni Manager Election


1. Purpose of the Election

In accordance with the provisions of the Statutes of the School Corporation Board, the Alumni Association will hold an election for the Alumni Manager, who will be nominated and registered as a member of the School Corporation Board. The School Corporation Board will submit an application to the Permanent Secretary for Education for the registered alumni to be appointed as the Alumni Manager of the College. The term of office will be approved by the Permanent Secretary and will run until 31st March, 2025.

Appeal Period:

Candidates who were not successful in the election may submit a written appeal to the alumni association within one week after the announcement of the election results, including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. The appeal should clearly state the reasons for the appeal.


3. Nomination Procedures

    3.1 Election Supervisor

         The alumni association has appointed Miss.Yip Sze Man as the Election Supervisor to oversee the nomination process, distribution of ballots, and vote counting.


    3.2 Nomination Mechanism

         - Each eligible alumni member who is at least 18 years old may nominate one candidate.

         - Each qualified candidate must receive nominations from a minimum of ten alumni members who are at least 18 years old.

         - Nominators cannot be candidates themselves.

         - If there is only one candidate, they will be automatically elected.

         - If no individuals are nominated as candidates, the nomination deadline will be extended by the alumni association.

         - Nomination and candidacy forms can be downloaded from the alumni association's website. Completed forms, along with a recent photo, should be submitted in person, mailed to the College, or emailed to between 5th December, 2023, and 18th December, 2023, during office hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM). (For mailed submissions, the postmark date will be considered.)


4. Candidate Eligibility

    - Must be a member of the alumni association of the College and be at least 18 years old.

    - Must be willing to abide by the constitution of the alumni association.

    - Alumni Manager candidates cannot be current teaching staff of the College.

    - Must be nominated by ten members of the alumni association.

   - Alumni Manager candidates must not fall under the registration requirements for managers as stated in Section 30 of the Education Ordinance (details can be found in the appendix).

    - Must adhere to the Election Code of Conduct for Alumni Manager candidates.

   - A manager cannot simultaneously hold positions in more than one sector within the School Corporation Board. Therefore, no individual can serve as both an Alumni Manager and a Parent Manager.

     - All candidates must thoroughly read the "School Managers’ Handbook" issued by the Education Bureau to understand the responsibilities of a manager.


5. Voter Eligibility

All registered members of the College’s alumni association are eligible to vote. All eligible voters have equal voting rights.


6. Election Procedures

    6.1 Voting Date

       The voting day and time for the Alumni Manager election will be on 13th January, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

    6.2 Voting Method

       To ensure a fair election, voting will be conducted using anonymous individual ballots. Only votes cast within the designated voting period will be accepted.

    6.3 Vote Counting

        Vote counting will take place immediately after the voting deadline. The Election Supervisor will oversee the vote counting process and invite the school principal, advisory teachers, members of the executive committee, alumni association members, and candidates to witness the counting.

    6.4 Announcement of Results

      The Election Supervisor will announce the election results through the alumni association's website and member emails before 14th January, 2024. The results will also be submitted to the School Corporation Board for confirmation of the elected candidate as the Alumni Manager.
