Our school was invited to participate in "InnoEX" (Hong Kong International Innovation and Technology Exhibition), co-organized by the HKSAR Government and the HKTDC. As one of the exhibiting institutions, we introduced "Remedix", a student-led R&D product, to the global innovation and technology industry.
Our school actively promotes STEAM education and encourages students to collaborate with various sectors of society and broaden their horizons outside classroom. Recently, under the guidance of the Drainage Services Department, our students successfully developed "Remedix — Biosensing Tetracycline Detection System". This portable device converts antibiotic detection in wastewater into intuitive color changes, providing an immediate, low-cost solution for on-site monitoring.
InnoEX is a major annual innovation and technology event in Asia, bringing together top technology enterprises and experts from around the world. During the exhibition, Mr. LAU Chun Kit, Ricky, JP, Permanent Secretary for Development of the Development Bureau, and Mr. HO Ying Kit, Tony, JP, Deputy Secretary for Development of the Development Bureau visited our booth to view the invention and engage in deep conversations with the students. This fully reflects the government’s emphasis on and support for youth innovation and technology development. The debut of students on such an international, high-level platform—and the opportunity to interact with industry leaders and high-ranking government officials—is a high affirmation of their innovative capabilities.
This collaboration allowed students to step outside the campus and apply their knowledge to real-world environmental issues. The school is deeply proud of the students' achievements and will continue to cultivate a new generation of scientific researchers with a sense of social responsibility.
