Shantou Island Ecological Study and Sister School Exchange Tour

2026-04-17

Our school held the “Shantou Island Ecological Study and Sister School Exchange Tour” from April 8 to April 11. We visited the Affiliated Haojiang Experimental School of SCNU and ShanTou DaHao Overseas Middle School of GuangDong. Through Chinese tea culture exchanges, our students came to know each other better. It was even more memorable that students learned about one of the signature Chinese traditional cultures – Chinese traditional rubbing art. The lion dance and Yingge performance by DaHao Overseas Middle School of Guangdong captivated everyone, and our students responded with enthusiastic applause, showing their warmth and appreciation for one another. At the moment of parting, students were reluctant to say goodbye. They waved and bid farewell, yet still could not bear to stop chatting and sharing—deep friendship had quietly taken root through this journey.

Besides cultural exchange, the students also visited Queshi Scenic Area, Mazu Island, and Nan’ao Island. They even saw the Chinese white dolphins in the waters on-site. Throughout the trip, students not only observed with their eyes, but also reflected with their hearts to better understand Shantou’s natural environment, biodiversity, and the value of the local ecosystem. On the way back, many students shared that “environmental conservation” is not just a slogan—it is something we can practise through every action, helping to protect the ocean and all living things.

This trip was not only about seeing different places, but it also brought friendship and care back to our school community.
